Q: When do the 2028 winter holidays take place in Zone B?

Departure is scheduled for Saturday, February 5, 2028, after classes, with classes resuming on Monday morning, February 21, 2028. For students who do not have classes on Saturdays, departure will take place on Friday, February 4, after classes.

Q: When are the 2028 spring holidays in Zone B?

Vacation begins on Saturday, April 8, 2028, after classes. Students return to school on the morning of Monday, April 24, 2028.

Q: Do Lille, Nantes, Rennes, and Strasbourg follow the same schedule?

Yes. These four academies belong to Zone B, as do Aix-Marseille, Amiens, Nancy-Metz, Nice, Normandy, Orléans-Tours, and Reims.

Q: Is the Ascension weekend included in the school calendar?

Yes. After Ascension Day on Thursday, classes will be off on Friday, May 26, and Saturday, May 27, 2028. Students will therefore return to school on Monday, May 29.

Q: What are the dates of the 2028 summer holidays?

Summer vacation begins on Tuesday, July 4, 2028, after classes end. In schools holding examinations, end-of-year arrangements may be adjusted.

Holidays begin after classes end. When the date shown is a Saturday and students do not have classes that day, the holiday begins on Friday evening. In Zone B, this means Friday, February 4, for the winter holidays and Friday, April 7, for the spring holidays.

With eleven school districts, Zone B is the largest of the three mainland zones:

The Zone B calendar applies in particular to Marseille, Aix-en-Provence, Avignon, Amiens, Lille, Arras, Metz, Nancy, Nantes, Angers, Nice, Toulon, Caen, Rouen, Orléans, Tours, Reims, Rennes and Strasbourg. The school district of the institution determines the applicable zone.

Zone B: the first holiday departure wave in 2028

In 2027–2028, the departure order is B, C, then A. Zone B therefore begins its winter holidays on February 5, two weeks before Zone A. The same applies in spring: Zone B students leave school on April 8, while Zone C leaves on the 15th and Zone A on the 22nd.

How can you make the most of this calendar?

The first week of Zone B’s winter holidays comes before Zone C’s departure, which may offer more choice for certain accommodations. The second week, however, coincides with Zone C’s. In spring, Easter Monday falls during the holidays, followed shortly after classes resume by two public holidays — May 1 and 8.
