Q: When do the 2028 winter holidays begin in Zone C?

The official start of the holiday is set for Saturday, February 12, 2028, after classes, with school resuming on Monday morning, February 28. If the student does not have classes on Saturday, the holiday begins on Friday evening, February 11.

Q: What are the dates of the 2028 spring holidays in Zone C?

Spring break runs from Saturday, April 15, 2028, after classes to Tuesday morning, May 2, 2028.

Q: Are Paris, Créteil, and Versailles in the same school zone?

Yes. The three Île-de-France education districts of Paris, Créteil and Versailles are in Zone C. They follow the same school holiday dates as the Toulouse and Montpellier education districts.

Q: Do students have school on Friday, May 26, 2028?

No. Following Ascension Day on Thursday, May 25, classes will not be held on Friday, May 26, and Saturday, May 27, in zones A, B, and C.

Q: When do the 2028 summer holidays begin in Zone C?

The summer holidays begin on Tuesday, July 4, 2028, after classes. Schools hosting exams may, however, adjust their schedule.

The start of the school year and the summer holidays take place on the same dates in all three zones of metropolitan France, excluding Corsica. The All Saints’ and Christmas holidays are also the same; only the winter and spring holidays are staggered.

The Saturday dates correspond to departure after classes. For most students who do not have classes on Saturdays, the holidays effectively begin on Friday evening: February 11, 2028, for the winter holidays and April 14, 2028, for the spring holidays.

Zone C comprises five academies:

Versailles.

It covers Paris and a large part of the Île-de-France region — Versailles, Boulogne-Billancourt, Nanterre, Saint-Denis, Créteil, Cergy, Melun and Évry-Courcouronnes — as well as Toulouse, Montpellier, Nîmes, Perpignan, Albi, Montauban and Tarbes. Zone C lies between Zones B and A

For both the winter and spring holidays, Zone C is the second departure wave. Its holidays begin one week after those of Zone B and one week before those of Zone A. Families with children attending schools in different zones therefore have one week of holiday in common with each of the other two zones.

How to plan the Zone C holidays

Zone C’s position in the middle means that its two winter weeks successively overlap with those of Zones B and A. For highly sought-after destinations, it is therefore best to book early. In spring, Easter Monday and May 1 fall during the holidays; classes resume on Tuesday, May 2. Monday, May 8 then provides another day without classes.

In Paris, Toulouse, Montpellier and many other cities, Coddy urban escape games offer an outdoor activity to enjoy during the holidays. Suitable scenarios are also available for organising a school trip.
